Wow, what a journey we’ve had together! From the very first step outside Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church, all the way to the grand Old Norfolk City Hall, it’s been quite a walk-and hopefully, your feet aren’t filing a complaint yet.
We stood where history happened, gazed up at buildings that have seen centuries go by, and, let’s be honest, probably learned more today than we did during some school field trips. We looked up at stained glass, heard stories of fires and traditions, touched the city’s nautical heart, and even met a battleship or two. Not every day you can say that, right?
As we reach our last stop, I hope you feel something special for Norfolk-a little pride, maybe a new curiosity, or just a big smile. This city is full of stories, laughter, and even a few ghosts (don’t worry, they’re friendly). My hope is that you carry a bit of Norfolk with you, wherever life takes you next.
Thank you for sharing your time and steps with me. Remember: the best way to keep history alive is to share what you’ve discovered. Now go out and tell someone your favorite Norfolk story-bonus points if you throw in one of my jokes!
So long for now. Until our next adventure together, keep exploring, keep smiling, and, most importantly, watch out for low-flying seagulls-they have a terrible sense of direction!
