Hey, I’m Aria... and I am so thrilled to be your guide for Echoes and Engines: The Pulse of Halifax Past and Present. This city has real texture... honey-colored stone, steep streets, old mill bones, chapel bells, market chatter, and that warm smell of coffee and fresh bakes drifting through town.
There are twelve stops on our walk. We’ll catch the playful spark of Eureka!, the grand courtyard drama of Piece Hall, the sacred calm of Halifax Minster, and the big, bold sweep of North Bridge... just a taste of what’s ahead.
As you approach each landmark, I’ll start telling you its story automatically, but if the audio does not begin, just tap play. If you feel lost at any point, open the map in the app. At every stop, you can ask me questions in the chat section below. You only need to dress respectfully for religious or sensitive stops. And while walking around Halifax in the United Kingdom, watch for traffic, buses, cyclists, steep slopes, cobbles, and uneven pavement.
If you haven’t already, head to Eureka!... and let’s begin.
