Wow... we actually made it! Take a deep breath right here... and just look around. We are standing right at the beating heart of Pittsburgh, where the Allegheny County Courthouse and the City-County Building stand like two giant guardians of the city's story.
I cannot believe our journey is already coming to a close. It feels like just a minute ago we were kicking things off with the electric, soulful energy at the August Wilson Center... tapping our feet to the phantom notes of jazz legends and feeling the absolute magic of a good story.
Think about everything we have seen together! We touched the sky at the U.S. Steel Tower and the Gulf Tower... feeling that unstoppable, fire-breathing ambition of the steelworkers who built the foundation of this country. We brushed shoulders with pure golden age glamour at the Omni William Penn. We found that gorgeous little pocket of peace in Mellon Square... and stood in the quiet, stunning shadows of Trinity Cathedral.
As we wandered past the cutting edge Tower at PNC Plaza and caught the creative spark over at the Pittsburgh Playhouse... I really hope you felt it. The true heartbeat of this amazing city. Pittsburgh is not just a bunch of bricks, glass, and steel. It is a living, breathing song. It is the sizzle of pierogies and kielbasa in a bustling family kitchen... it is the roar of a theater crowd when the curtain goes up... and it is the grit and love of generations who poured their souls into these exact streets.
You know, I am so incredibly grateful I got to share this with you. Exploring this downtown with you today has been an absolute dream.
