Kalispell, nestled in the scenic Flathead Valley of Montana, was founded in 1891 by two determined entrepreneurs, James C. McGinnis and Louis D. L'Hote. With the arrival of the Great Northern Railway, the town began to transform from a simple settlement into a bustling hub for settlers and traders. The name “Kalispell” is derived from a Salish Indian word meaning “flat or level land,” which aptly describes the area’s topography.
