Take a moment to picture the year 1911-horses and buggies still clip-clopping over these Greeley streets, townsfolk bustling about with armfuls of groceries, and the buzz of excitement as this very church first opened its wooden doors. The First Baptist Church was designed by none other than T. Robert Wieger, the Denver architect who also created Colorado’s famously spooky Stanley Hotel. Sandwiched right on the northwest corner of Tenth Avenue and Eleventh Street, this church quickly became a hub of both worship and community chatter.
