Welcome to Manhattan, New York City!

headphones 02:15

Picture this: you’re standing at the gates of Columbia University, sun dappled through the leaves, city life buzzing in the background. Around you, students rush between classes, the faint clatter of coffee cups in hand, and the smell of roasted peanuts drifts from a nearby cart. Just a block over, you might catch the distant rumble of the subway or hear the toll of church bells. Welcome to Morningside Heights-where every stone has a story.

Our adventure will wind through grand libraries, secret statues, famous sculptures, leafy parks, and subway stops where New Yorkers somehow always look like they know exactly where they’re going (even if they don’t). From the majestic steps of Low Memorial Library to the serenity of Riverside Park, each stop holds its own hidden gems and a tale or two.

I’ll automatically start sharing stories as you get close to each landmark, but if my timing is off, just click play, and I’ll be right there with you. Lost? No problem! The map in your app will quickly put you back on track. Questions along the way? There’s a chat below-just type away, and I’ll do my best to answer. At the moment, there aren’t any religious or particularly sensitive stops that require special dress, but always be respectful if you wander into any sacred spaces nearby.

A quick note: this is Manhattan, so keep your wits about you-watch for traffic at crosswalks, mind those city curbs, and keep an eye on your belongings in busy spots. Comfortable shoes are a must. Oh, and if you hear someone shout “Hey, I’m walkin’ here!”-don’t take it personally.

If you haven’t already, head on over to our first landmark: Low Memorial Library. I’ll be waiting there to kick things off. Ready? Let’s get this legendary stroll started!

format_quote This tour was such a great way to see the city. The stories were interesting without feeling too scripted, and I loved being able to explore at my own pace.

format_quote This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
