Welcome to Cambridge!

headphones 02:25

Close your eyes for a moment-well, actually, don’t, you might walk into a lamppost! But picture the gentle crunch of gravel underfoot, the whispers of old stone, and the leafy breeze carrying echoes of laughter from generations of students. In Cambridge, history is alive all around us, just waiting to drop some clever anecdotes into your day.

Our adventure has 15 stops, each one more fascinating than the last. We’ll kick things off at St Catharine’s College where students have been plotting their futures for almost 550 years. Don’t be surprised if you sense the wisdom seeping from the walls-or maybe that’s just the smell of breakfast from the dining hall! We’ll wander past the magnificent King’s College Chapel-you’ll know it by the “wow” on everyone’s face-and discover nooks like Sidney Sussex College, the final resting place of Oliver Cromwell’s head. Talk about mind-blowing history, right?

As you walk, I’ll start telling you about each landmark as you approach it. Sometimes mobile magic doesn’t work perfectly, so if my audio doesn’t start automatically, just click play and I’ll jump right in. If you ever feel like you’ve turned one too many corners, have a look at the map in the app to get back on track. And if the history bug bites and you have a burning question about a stop, just chat with me below-I love a good challenge!

A quick word for your comfort: some stops, like the Church of St Mary the Great, are religious or sensitive sites. It’s best to dress respectfully-covering shoulders, maybe no flip-flops that day. Cambridge is full of cobbled streets and speeding cyclists who treat pathways like the Tour de France, so watch your step, share the road, and mind the puddles after rain. Oh, and ducks. Because, well, it’s Cambridge.

Ready to uncover secrets, smile at odd traditions, and marvel at magnificent architecture? If you haven’t already, make your way to St Catharine’s College-the first stop. I’ll be waiting, history jokes at the ready. Let’s begin our odyssey!

format_quote This tour was such a great way to see the city. The stories were interesting without feeling too scripted, and I loved being able to explore at my own pace.

format_quote This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
