Hola, traveler! I’m Andy, your cheerful digital tour guide for today, and I hope you brought your curiosity (and maybe a little extra battery power)-because we’re about to discover the secrets of La Orotava’s Dehesa Alta! Welcome to the “La Orotava Audio Tour: Histories, Mysteries & Gardens of Dehesa Alta.” That name sounds pretty fancy, but don’t worry: my job is to keep things fun, surprising, and easy for you.
Imagine a gentle Canarian breeze, the scent of wild flowers in the air, and pretty cobbled streets winding past grand old houses and colorful gardens. That’s Dehesa Alta-a place where every corner has a story to tell. With twelve stops on our tour, you’ll see science museums, hidden gardens, mysterious old houses, beautiful churches, and even a cemetery (don’t get too spooked… the only ghosts here are history’s secrets!).
As you walk, I’ll start telling you all about each landmark as you get close-no need to press any buttons. BUT if the audio doesn’t start (sometimes I do take a little digital nap), just hit play yourself! And if you feel lost, no worries at all! There’s a helpful map on your app. You can peek at it any time.
Feel free to ask me anything about a stop-just send your questions in the chat section below. I love burning questions almost as much as I love churros.
A quick reminder before we begin: We’ll visit some religious sites, like beautiful old churches, so if you plan to step inside, please dress respectfully-cover those shoulders just in case! The streets might be cobbled or steep in places, so comfy shoes are your best friend here. And always watch for cars-they like a surprise guest as much as the next driver.
If you haven’t done so yet, make your way to our first stop: the Canaria Orotava Foundation for the History of Science. It’s the perfect start for our journey through time and tall tales.
Ready? Let’s make some memories together in the heart of La Orotava!
