Can you feel the hum of Lisbon in the air? The sound of tram bells, the scent of roasted chestnuts drifting past tiled facades, the chatter of locals, and oh-did you just catch a glimpse of that sunny blue azulejo? That’s the spirit! We’ll start at the majestic D. Pedro IV Square-a place so lively that even the pigeons seem to dance. Later, you’ll hear stories about city legends at spots like the Santa Justa Lift (spoiler: it’s one of the fanciest “elevators” you’ll ever see) and fuel up Portuguese-style at the historic Café A Brasileira, home of poets-and probably some caffeine-fueled ideas!
Here’s how things work: as you approach each landmark, I’ll jump in and start talking, just like magic. If I don’t, you can give me a little nudge by tapping ‘play.’ Feeling lost? Don’t worry. Just peek at the map in the app-a handy compass when the street signs play hide-and-seek. And if you get curious, confused, or inspired along the way, pop your questions right into the chat below any stop. I love a good challenge!
Little heads-up: we’ll visit Igreja de São Roque on our adventure, so please be respectful-cover shoulders and knees if you can.
Some quick Lisbon tips before we embark: watch those cobblestones-Lisbon’s famous “calçada” sidewalks can be slippery, especially when you’re looking up at the historic buildings and not at your feet (trust me, I’ve seen it!). Keep an eye out for pickpockets in busy areas (they love tourists as much as I do), and make sure to hydrate, especially on sunny days.
If you haven’t already, head over to our starting point-D. Pedro IV Square. The adventure begins there! Ready to taste, hear, and feel Lisbon like never before? Let’s hit the (cobblestone) road!
