Sir Cunningham Clock TowerThe Cunningham Clock Tower is a clock tower built in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan in 1900 "in memory of Her Majesty Queen Victoria". The clock house was named after Sir George Cunningham, a former British governor and political agent of the province. == History == Designed by Peshawar municipal engineer James Strachan, the foundation stone of the building was laid in 1898 by George Cunningham, the governor of the North-West Frontier Province (now Khyber Pakhtunkhwa). It was opened to the public in 1900 to commemorate Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. The construction of the building was financed by the Balmukund family. The building was damaged during the 1965 Indo-Pak war when an Indian plane mistook it for an airstrip at Peshawar airport. It was then rebuilt by Aaron Bloor in 2003. == Build == The diameter of the minaret is 31 feet. Its base is 13 by 4 metres (43 ft × 13 ft) and is 26 metres (85 ft) high at Ghanta Ghar Chowk (Clock Tower Square). == Gallery == == See also == List of clock houses in Pakistan == References ==

This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
