It opened in April 2000 (Heisei 12). "Karakoro" was named after a sentence by Yakumo Koizumi, who lived in Matsue, in 1890 (Meiji 23), when he was deeply moved by the sound that echoed when people crossed the Matsue Ohashi Bridge, which was a wooden bridge at the time. == Overview == The building of the former Bank of Japan Matsue Branch has been renovated, and it is a craft museum that is used in a form that retains much of the atmosphere of the Bank of Japan era. The facility houses many shops such as workshops that integrate manufacturing and sales, restaurants, and coffee shops. Various events such as concerts, painting exhibitions, and hands-on classes are held on the garden terrace, underground safe, and classrooms.
