Aomori Highlights Audio Tour: Maritime History and Cultural Treasures

Audio guide8 stops

Aomori hides a jagged history beneath its snowy facade, where the salt of the Tsugaru Strait mingles with the echoes of ancient rebellions. This self-guided audio tour peels back the layers of a city defined by fire and rebirth, leading you to secret corners and forgotten narratives that remain invisible to the average traveler. Why did the local deity of Utou Shrine demand such a gruesome price for safety? What dark scandal led to the abrupt disappearance of a powerful clan official near the harbor? And how did a single printmaker’s obsession at the Munakata Shiko Memorial Museum change the artistic soul of this northern frontier forever? Trace the arc of the city from the towering glass triangle of ASPAM to quiet, forgotten shrines. Feel the pulse of historical drama beneath your feet as you navigate a landscape shaped by upheaval. Open your ears and uncover the true Aomori.

Aomori Civic HallAomori Civic Hall is a hall in Yanagawa, Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. In October 2014, the naming rights were introduced, and "Linkmore Heiankaku Civic Hall" became the name for this facility. == Overview == Originally opened in 2001, "Pa Ru Plaza Aomori". However, the operator, Japan Post Corporation (currently Japan Post Co., Ltd.), was not profitable, so it was abolished in October 2006 along with "Pa-Ru-Ru Plaza" in Machida, Gifu, and Yamaguchi. After that, Aomori City acquired it in December of the same year. From February 15, 2007, a naming right holder was recruited to secure independent financial resources, but no applicants appeared, and eventually opened in April under the official name 'Aomori Civic Hall'. In October 2014, Linkmore Co., Ltd. (formerly Aomori Ceremonial Wedding and Funeral Mutual Aid Association) acquired the naming rights and became the nickname "Linkmore Heiankaku Civic Hall". With the opening of the Aomori Civic Hall, the Aomori Civic Culture Hall, which is severely deteriorating, was closed on June 30, 2007. In fact, it is as if the cultural hall has been relocated to the civic hall. == History == September 2001 --Opened as "Pa-Ru-ru Plaza Aomori". 2006/10/31 --Closed. This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
