We've walked over graves, hidden saints, and the echoes of captive lords. It is funny how a place can be so focused on showing off its best angles... while burying its most interesting chapters in the dirt. We wandered past the gleaming tiles of towering spires and the imposing walls of royal palaces, taking in the scent of damp limestone and the crisp echo of footsteps on uneven cobblestone. Yet beneath those massive, meticulously rebuilt structures... people were desperately preserving what mattered most, hiding their truths and secrets deep in the dark. I suppose every beautiful city needs a few skeletons in its closet. Literally, in Buda's case. It has been an absolute pleasure walking these winding paths with you. As you leave Castle Hill, remember that the true history of Buda is not just in the monuments that catch the sun, but in the shadows that hide beneath them. Take care of yourself... and keep looking below the surface.
