On our adventure together, you’ll wander from echoes of old maritime drama at the Attack on the Moselle, to the striking silhouette of the German submarine Wilhelm Bauer, and all the way to modern scientific wonders at IMARE. Whether you love history, tech, or just a good look at the North Sea, I promise you’ll find something that floats your boat here. And hey, if you don’t-at least you’ll get your steps in!
Here’s how it works: as you approach each landmark, I’ll pop in with a story, some fun facts, or maybe even a groan-worthy pun. If for some reason I’m being shy (or your phone is!), just click play to hear the audio. Lost along the way? Don’t worry-just peek at the map in the app; Bremerhaven’s layout is friendlier than a harbor seal at feeding time.
Want to know more about a landmark while you’re there? Open up the chat below and fire away-I love answering questions almost as much as I love a good sailor joke.
A couple of quick notes before we set sail: our stop at Mayor Smidt Memorial Church is a place of worship, so please dress modestly out of respect. As for the rest of Bremerhaven, keep an eye out for waterfront breezes-they can sneak up like a cheeky seagull-so maybe bring a jacket, just in case. Watch your step near the water, mind the busy harbor areas, and remember: the only thing you should pick up from the docks is a seashell, not a ship.
If you haven’t already, make your way to the first stop-the Attack on the Moselle-and we’ll get started on this adventure! Ready? Let’s see what treasures Bremerhaven has in store. Off we go!
