Tbilisi, the vibrant capital of Georgia, is a city steeped in rich historical significance and cultural diversity. Established in the 5th century AD by King Vakhtang I of Iberia, its strategic location on the banks of the Kura River has made it a pivotal point of contention and connection between Europe and Asia throughout the ages.

The legend surrounding the founding of Tbilisi is as captivating as the city itself. According to popular lore, King Vakhtang I went hunting in a dense forest where he encountered warm sulfuric hot springs. His falcon, chasing a pheasant, fell into one of these springs, which inspired the king to clear the forest and establish a city in its place. The name "Tbilisi," derived from the Georgian word for warm, is a fitting tribute to the area's natural hot springs.
