The Church of St. Michael sits perched daringly atop a steep rock, almost as if the builders wanted their prayers to soar straight into the sky above. If you listen closely, you might imagine the echoes of ancient footsteps as monks and villagers once climbed up here, their hearts pounding-maybe from the climb, or maybe from awe at this little church’s beauty! Dedicated to the archangel Michael, the structure is compact but perfectly formed, its brick and stone walls patterned like a Byzantine puzzle, catching the sunlight.
