We’ll start our tour among mighty train cars at the Delaware, Lackawanna and Western Railroad Yard. Imagine the clang of steel, the hiss of an engine - it’s not just smoke and mirrors out here! Soon, you’ll stroll past majestic courthouses, stroll by the grand Scranton Cultural Center (it’s fancier than a penguin in a top hat), or get a whiff of local favorites outside Farley’s Eatery.
Whenever you come close to one of the 11 stops, I’ll pop in with stories, facts, and - who knows - possibly even a joke worth a groan. If my voice doesn’t jump out automatically, no worries: just tap the play button. Lost in the excitement (or just lost)? Check the map in the app to find your way, and feel free to chat with me at any time, right here below.
You’ll be passing by the Diocese of Scranton, so dressing respectfully is a good idea - nothing too wild, save your superhero cape for later. While The Flats is a welcoming corner of Scranton, do watch for traffic, uneven sidewalks, or the occasional pigeon acting like it owns the place.
Now, if you haven’t already, make your way to our starting line-the old railroad yard-and let’s begin this urban adventure. Get ready: Scranton has stories to share, and I promise to make them fun to hear!
