Well hey there, y’all. Name’s Buck, your San Antonio trail boss for this here San Antonio Soul Odyssey. We’re fixin’ to wander Downtown where old stone walls and shiny glass towers share the same sidewalk, and the air carries a mix of river water, street tacos, and a little history that sticks to your boots. Thirteen stops await, and I won’t spoil the whole pot of chili, but you’ll brush up against HemisFair’s big memories, tip your hat to the Tower of the Americas, and get mighty close to the heart of Texas at the Alamo.
As you stroll up to each landmark, I’ll start talkin’ on my own, but if the audio don’t kick in, just tap play. If you feel turned around, pull up the map in the app. At every stop, you can holler questions at me in the chat below.
Dress respectful only when we’re at a religious or sensitive spot. Keep an eye on crosswalks, watch your step on uneven sidewalks, mind your belongings in crowds, and pace yourself.
Now if you haven’t already, head on over to the Institute of Texan Cultures to start stop one.
