Well... here we are. You’ve walked the streets, crossed the greens, and peered up at some buildings that have watched Middletown grow older and-sometimes-wiser. If you’re standing here now with a little ache in your feet and just a smidge more curiosity than when you started, then I’d call that a good tour.
It’s funny, isn’t it? How these places-fraternity houses, stately churches, old mills, humble almshouses-tell a story much bigger than brick and stone. They hold the memories of late-night talks, quiet springs, big dreams, and even a few spectacular mistakes-just like people.
You might not remember every name or date, and let’s be honest, you probably won’t. But I hope you tuck away the sense of this place-the feeling of wandering through history you can still touch and hear and, when Main Street’s full of restaurants, maybe even taste.
Thanks for letting me walk with you today. If Middletown feels a bit more YOUR town now, mission accomplished. And hey, next time you pass by these old haunts... give a little nod for both of us.
Journey safe, walk curious, and remember-sometimes the best stories in a city are the ones you help write. Take care.
