Welcome to Edinburgh!

headphones 02:20

Today, you’ll climb cobbled closes, gaze up at castle battlements, and peek behind the doors of grand halls and sacred sites. Imagine the swirl of bagpipes in the distance, the scent of roasting coffee drifting from tiny cafés, and a breeze that might, just might, be carrying the ghostly whispers of Edinburgh’s past. If you listen closely, you’ll hear the city’s heartbeat-somewhere between the clop of a horse on the Royal Mile and the “clang” of a passing pint in the Grassmarket.

As you approach each landmark, I’ll pop up and spill the beans (or maybe just the haggis) about where you’re standing. If the audio doesn’t start right away, just tap play to nudge me awake-I promise I’m not sleeping on the job! If you lose your way, just check out the map on your app; Edinburgh’s streets are famously twisty, but you don’t want to end up in 1746 by mistake.

At every stop, please ask me your burning questions in the chat box below. Trust me, I love a good challenge-try stumping me!

Some sites, like churches or historic graveyards, are still places of worship or reflection, so please be respectful and dress appropriately-let's save the novelty kilts and painted faces for the festival crowds, shall we?

A few quick tips before we set off: watch out for those sneaky cobblestones-Edinburgh’s streets are pretty enough to distract you, but twisty enough to trip you up. The weather? Four seasons in one day is just another Tuesday here. Keep a waterproof in your bag and wear comfy shoes; your feet will thank you when we get to the Castle!

Ready to travel from parliaments to kirks, from the footprints of philosophers to the stones where kings once trod? If you haven’t already, head over to our first stop: the Scottish Parliament. The stories are waiting, and so am I-let’s step into the magic of Edinburgh together!

This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
