The landmarks in every guidebook — and the tours that tell you what guidebooks don't.
Orebro occupies the geographic center of Sweden, and its castle, Orebro Slott, sits on an island in the middle of the Svartaan river as it flows through the city. The castle has stood in various forms since the thirteenth century and was the site of several significant decisions in Swedish history, including the election of Jean-Baptiste Bernadotte as Crown Prince of Sweden in 1810. Today it houses exhibitions about the region's history, and you can walk around the exterior on the island and look back at the city in a way that makes the medieval logic of the fortification immediately clear.
The city center around Stortorget, the main square, has the market town character that Orebro has maintained since its founding.
The town hall on the square dates from 1858, and the surrounding streets are lined with nineteenth and early twentieth century commercial buildings in good condition. Orebro grew in the industrial period as a shoe manufacturing center, and the old shoe factories in the western part of the city have been converted to housing and studios, leaving their red-brick facades intact along the Svartaan riverbank.

This tour was such a great way to see the city. The stories were interesting without feeling too scripted, and I loved being able to explore at my own pace.
This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
Started this tour with a croissant in one hand and zero expectations. The app just vibes with you, no pressure, just you, your headphones, and some cool stories.
