Take a look around: beneath the leafy branches, there’s the famous Fountain of the Water Carrier, sculpted by local artist Vicente Bañuls in 1918. The fountain splashes softly-the perfect backdrop if you want to pretend you’re writing a novel or composing a mysterious letter. For years, everyone simply called this Plaza de Correos because the main post office once sat here. So, don’t be surprised if someone asks you for a stamp!
There’s so much history packed into this sun-dappled square, from writers and queens to the days when boats were parked instead of cars. I’d say this spot has really delivered over the years-pun totally intended!
