Welcome to Funchal!

headphones 02:04

We’ve got 13 stops lined up, from grand palaces to shady gardens, grand churches and squares where history loves to linger. Picture gentle ocean breezes, the distant hum of conversations, the aroma of baked bread from tiny cafes, and moments where time seems to pause-like right outside the beautiful Edifício na Rua do Carmo, n.º 33, where we’ll begin this adventure. Don’t be surprised if you find yourself grinning at a quirky fact at the Palácio de São Lourenço or marveling at colors in the Jardim Municipal do Funchal.

Here's how it works: as you approach each landmark, I’ll automatically pop up to share its stories. If I’m a bit slow on the draw (robots sometimes get distracted by pigeons too), just tap the play button. Feeling a bit lost? No worries-the map on your app is ready to guide you back like a friendly compass.

Got questions or want to dig deeper at any stop? Just type your thoughts in the chat below and I’ll try my best not to tell you what “Windows XP” is instead (I promise, I know Funchal better than I know old operating systems).

A quick tip-when stopping by religious sites, like the Cathedral of Funchal, please dress respectfully (shoulders covered, hats off). For the rest of the tour, just wear comfy shoes and slap on some sunscreen-Madeira’s sun is a show-off! Watch for uneven pavement, give way to the classic yellow buses, and never trust a seagull with your sandwich.

If you’re not already there, make your way to our very first stop: Edifício na Rua do Carmo, n.º 33. I’m waiting there, ready to begin! Let the stories, views, and maybe a giggle or two, start here in Funchal. Shall we?

format_quote This tour was such a great way to see the city. The stories were interesting without feeling too scripted, and I loved being able to explore at my own pace.

format_quote This was a solid way to get to know Brighton without feeling like a tourist. The narration had depth and context, but didn't overdo it.
