You and I are in for quite the walk-14 fantastic stops in total! We’ll meet mysterious beguines, marvel at clockwork masterpieces, and step inside churches that have watched centuries roll by. Don’t worry, I promise to keep things lively and throw in a joke or two. And keep your eyes (and nose) open-fresh bread, local beer, and blooming flowers are just some of the treats in the streets of Lier.
Here’s how our adventure works: as you get close to one of our landmarks, I’ll jump in with stories and fun facts. If for some reason you don’t hear me, just tap ‘play’ on your phone. Feel free to follow your curiosity at any time and check out the map in the app if you wander off the path-a little lost, a lot of adventure, right?
If at any stop you want to know more (or just want to challenge me with a tricky question!), type it into the chat below. I’ll do my best not to get tongue-tied.
We’ll be visiting some religious sites, so if you plan to step inside, make sure you’re dressed respectfully-shoulders and knees covered is a safe bet. Otherwise, just wear comfy shoes, watch out for cyclists, and be careful on cobblestones (they’re beautiful but can be sneaky underfoot).
Ready for medieval legends, riverside wonders, and perhaps a tale of a sheep or two? If you haven’t already, make your way to our first stop: the Mechelsepoort Bridge. I’ll be waiting there, eager to get started with you.
Let’s make some memories in Lier!
