Welcome to Parkville, Melbourne!

G’day, explorer! I’m Andy, your friendly (and sometimes funny) digital tour guide. Welcome to your “Scholarly Adventure through Parkville”-where the air is crisp, the campus is buzzing, and history peeks out from behind every tree.

Picture this: broad tree-lined boulevards, the distant chime of tram bells, students chatting on green lawns, and the stately buildings of the University of Melbourne looking all mysterious and wise. That's what you’re about to step into! We’ve got 15 fantastic stops lined up, each with its own story-from mind-boggling art at the Ian Potter Museum, to secret scientific corners, to grand hospitals that have seen a century of Melbourne’s history.

Don’t worry, you don’t have to know quantum physics, Latin, or how to hold a paintbrush-just bring your curiosity and maybe comfortable shoes (trust me, your feet will thank you).

Here’s how it all works: as you walk up to each stop, I’ll pipe up with stories and fun facts-I promise not to jump out and startle you! Sometimes, though, phones do what they want, so if you don’t hear me start right away, just tap the play button in your app. Lost? Check the map-I won’t leave you wandering like a misplaced library book.

Curious about a building, a statue, or which café to hit up nearby? Hit the chat button below at any stop and ask away. I’m all ears and answers (and a few puns).

No need to worry about special dress codes, unless you plan to start med school during this walk. Just watch out for bikes, trams, and the occasional overexcited duck. Melbourne weather likes to keep us guessing-maybe stash a jacket in your bag just in case.

Now, if you’re not already standing dazzled outside our first stop-the Ian Potter Museum of Art-it’s the perfect time to head that way and let our adventure begin! Ready? Your scholarly quest awaits.

format_quote This tour was such a great way to see the city. The stories were interesting without feeling too scripted, and I loved being able to explore at my own pace.
